Enjoy Walking
There is a wide range of options, such as Nordic walking, hiking, jogging, marathon running or simply going for a walk. Oberplars/Plars di Sopra is the perfect starting point for circular walks and some of the most beautiful hiking trails in our region. In just a few minutes you can reach the „Algunder Waalweg“ on foot, further on to the historic way Tappeiner. Discover the educational wine trail or the rock trail in Vellau/Velloi. In the neighbouring village you will find the impressive waterfall of Partschins/Parcines or simply stroll along the urban spa promenade of Meran/Merano. You can easily reach all the desired pleasure hikes on foot or by bus.
Mountain cross hunters
The Oberangerhof offers the mountains right on the doorstep. Our mountaintop hunters can shorten the first distance by bus, e.g. to Vellau/Velloi. Collect unique impressions, such as a ride on the nostalgic Vellau/Velloi basket lift, up to the Leiteralm and enjoy the alpine delights of the Texel Group Nature Park. This offers highlights such as the Meraner High Trail, the Hans Frieden Trail, the Mutspitze/ Cima della Muta, the Rötel/ la Cima Rosa and the Tschigat. Hike through the high mountains via Hochgang to the Spronser Lakes/ laghi di Sopranese and get back to the starting point over the Taufenscharte. Experience your holiday anew on hikes up to 3,000 metres in altitude.
Biking and cycling
With the mountain bike over alpine and forest paths, with the city bike through the village and into the thermal town of Meran/Merano or with the racing bike along the Via Claudia Augusta, the old Roman road. The mostly flat cycle trail offers a distance of approx. 300 km and can be cycled in several stages. Tours into the Vinschgau Valley, in the direction of Mals/Malls all the way to Lake Reschen or explore the Passeier Valley await you. A classic is the Etsch Valley cycle route from Algund/Lagundo to Bozen/Bolzano. From there you can cycle as far as Trento to romantic Verona. Of course, downhill riders also get their fun here. No wish remains unfulfilled. The tourist office offers guided e-bike tours during the summer months. You can park your bikes in our bike depot.
Active vacation
There is a wide range of activities for families, adrenaline lovers and those in search of tranquillity. In addition to guided hikes through orchards, discover activities such as Kneipp courses, horse riding, golf, mini golf, paragliding, climbing to canyoning, rafting, tennis or bouldering in one of the largest bouldering areas in South Tyrol.
Relax in the hot thermal water of the thermal baths of Meran/Merano or immerse yourself in a hidden world during a tour of the bunker in Töll/Toell. Find your inner centre during forest bathing or during the instructive herb walks. There are numerous guided tours, e.g. through the Algund alpine dairy or the Forst brewery.
